ON-GOING & SPECIAL EVENTS

Annual Maine WCTU Convention. The Annual Convention for 2004 will be held on September 10th at the Bath Church of the Nazarene at 191 Centre Street, Bath ME. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the convention begins at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon will be served at noon. Following the luncheon our guest speaker, Dottie Perham-Whitter will be sharing about her ministry, which for a number of years was mainly to youth. Since 1996, she has focused on service as a Christian Motivational Speaker. All of our WCTU Sisters, Brothers, and Friends are welcome to this 129th Annual Convention.

Portland WCTU Meetings. The Portland Union meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Neal Dow Memorial from September through June.
Newly elected President for the Portland Union for September 2004 -August 2006 is Lani Swartzentruber. Lani is the daughter of former Maine State WCTU President and National WCTU President, Rachel Kelly. And as such, she has a deep understanding and love for the WCTU. We look forward to what the future holds for us. Any who may be interested are welcome to meet with us.

"Christmas at Dow". This is an annual event sponsored by the State and Local WCTU. The Neal Dow Memorial is
beautifully adorned with old-fashioned decorations. A program of carol singing, special music, and special speakers is presented each year two weeks before Christmas and is open to the public. Refreshments are served following the program. Guided tours are available.
